Issy,

i actually have only read the first book in this saga but i heard nico di angelo came back so i HAD to read it。 i will be honest i only read the moments where he appeared and the ending because it was The Seven’s conclusion (which is why i’m not rating this book yet) and i missed them。but i really liked it, i need to read the other three previous books
Sofia,
i’m so emotional right now after this end。

i dont know if the tears are happy tears or sad tears

Caterina,

A great ending to the series I wish piper and shel weee introduced earlier and that we didn’t only get half a page of them。 Meg and lester seemed really close in the end and apollo definitely kept his promises to Jason “remember what it’s like to be human”。 I love the sence if humor riodan has with his books and I just hope there’s more of them in the future (I’ve already pre-ordered daughter of the deep) I love Greek mythology and I love this series

Trials of Apollo。 Wow, I made it。 I read all the books。 I did not expect that a couple months ago。 Just like the previous books, this book includes former characters from older series as supporting much to unpack。 I don’t know where to start but I must start somewhere。 This is the final book in the Trials of Apollo。 Wow, I made it。 I read all the books。 I did not expect that a couple months ago。 Just like the previous books, this book includes former characters from older series as supporting characters in this book。 In this book, that means Will, Nico, and Rachel as the supporting characters。 I loved Solangelo。 I loved them so much。 They’re such a cute couple and I ship them so much。 Seeing them interact was much needed。 It’s been ages since Rachel was a part of the books as a supporting character。 It’s about time。 I was very happy to see her here。 I loved that Dionysus is finally back at Camp Half-Blood。 Sure, I’m somewhat sad for him that he’s not free of his punishment but I was happy to see him back。 I was worried he wouldn’t show up again after he never showed up in the Heroes of Olympus books。 I loved the Arrow of Dodona and I didn’t expect to lose the arrow but I’m sad that it had to sacrifice itself。 I’m going to miss it。 Now let’s get into the big stuff。 For the entire series, I have been skeptical about the big villains of this series。 Rick Riordan tries to make it seem like the emperors and Python are bigger than Kronos and Gaea but it hasn’t felt like it。 It just hasn’t felt as iconic as the other two。 However, the final battle in this book made me rethink that。 The final battle in this book is just so good。 It takes up a huge portion of this book which is something that didn’t happen in Blood of Olympus, and I was very upset about it。 Here, the battle is drawn out and as a result, it makes you see how severe the threat of the emperors and Python is。 One issue though is that Python just needed a whole lot more development。 His battle with Apollo was rushed and it was last minute information that he was the big bad of the series。 The series made it seem like the emperors were and it shouldn’t have switched up in the last book。 A good thing about the fight with Python though was that it perfectly depicted Apollo’s journey。 In his fight, Apollo falls all the way to Tartarus, which is rock bottom, before he had to get back up and ascend to godhood。 It wraps up the series in a well described and symbolic fight。Speaking of Apollo’s growth, that’s the other big thing。 Apollo’s journey is what this series has been all about。 His fall from grace and his journey to return himself to his former glory。 At first, Apollo was very much at rock bottom。 He was disrespectful to humans, arrogant, and weak。 Over the course of these books, he’s had his ups and downs。 He still has his arrogant and former Apollo moments。 However, he has grown to become a totally different person。 He appreciates life, he is more thoughtful, and he is more powerful。 Jason’s death really left an impact on Apollo, and it is shown through it’s repeated mention later on and how it still hurts Apollo。 His power started to return in small pieces over parts of the series and I love that。 I can’t believe it, but I’ve really grown attached to Apollo。 In fact, I was crying when he became a god again and had to say goodbye。 I also cried during his reunion with Artemis。 It was touching。 I will miss his arrogance and haikus。 He was a good narrator。 Next up, the gods。 I will hate Zeus forevermore after this。 I’m mad at the punishment that Apollo got when it should’ve gone to Hera。 However, I understand that it was needed to defeat these villains and for the sake of Apollo’s character development。 What Apollo’s said about Zeus over the series has really shown how horrible he is。 Not only is a cheater but he’s a horrible father and tyrant too。 What’s surprising is that I found myself sympathizing with Hera when she defended Apollo。 It doesn’t mean I like her though。 However, it does bring up the question of how the gods are still not much better than their predecessors。 They still suck a lot but at least they have an Apollo who’s changed。 The last major point I’d like to talk about is the ending。 I loved seeing all our characters all over again when Apollo was saying bye。 Rick Riordan really made it feel like a send-off for the Riordanverse or at least the PJO side of it。 The last few sentences even made me cry。 Seeing everyone again felt like a goodbye, HOWEVER, there is a huge question mark that also remains。 At multiple times during the ending, I felt a sense of unfinished questions and a possible way for another book at least。 1) Nico’s second journey to Tartarus and this time with Will。 I think he’s looking for Bob but you can’t just hint at it and leave it there。 Especially when a prophecy was revealed by Rachel (just not to us)。 2) The Hunters of Artemis have yet to catch the Teumessian Fox and I think that’s because they’re not meant to in this book but in a future book。 3) Leo and Calypso have some sort of issues。 I shipped them in Heroes of Olympus but this series has showed they have some issues that might or might not be fixed。 4) Piper is bisexual。 This, I wasn’t surprised about at all。 It has been hinted at since Heroes of Olympus。 Piper flirted with Annabeth on the common and what she said in The Burning Maze makes a lot of sense。 Her character really reminds me of Nina Zenik from the Grishaverse now though and I don’t exactly like in。 My issue here is that it felt like Piper was moving on from her lost love too quickly。 People need different amounts of time to grieve but I cannot get on a ship that sails right after a former lover’s death。 It would be cool to see her development in later books。 5) I loved the reference to Magnus Chase and The Kane Chronicles with Chiron’s emergency meeting。 That crossover seems like it could lead into something in the future。 All of these are just instances and I’m sure Rick Riordan means to end the PJO universe here but I cannot help but want to see more when it’s hinted at。Overall, let me say it was a wild ride。 I was excited for the series when it was announced but then I didn’t like the first book when I read it the first time。 I didn’t want to read the second one。 However, I came back and reread the first book and it wasn’t that bad。 The second one however, I will say was not my favorite。 It was a weak book。 Thankfully, the third book turned around the entire series。 The fourth book built on it and the last one concluded it well。 I’m so glad I was able to finish this series。 I don’t like leaving things unfinished and thankfully, it was worth it。 The ending was absolutely beautiful too。 I will give it to Rick Riordan for always making his PJO series end well。 It just always leaves me on a sentimental note and I love it。 This might be the end of the Riordanverse or at least the PJO side, but I will never forget it and what it means to me。 I’m glad to have been able to say goodbye to these characters。 。。。more
